Working Groups

Several technical committees and working groups are active in the BAV e.V., which support the board in its work. The committees and working groups are thematically oriented to the interest groups organised in the association.

Each member has the opportunity to actively participate in the committees working groups, to contribute topics and to help shape the association’s work. The committee is headed by an elected chairman and a deputy chairman.

Strategy Committee

The Strategy Technical Committee deals with fundamental issues relating to association policy and advises the BAV Executive Board on the association’s strategic orientation.

Processing Committee

The Processing Committee and its members develop the standard in the field of waste wood processing, logistics and storage technology. Current developments and best practice solutions in the processing of waste wood are discussed here.

Materials Recycling Committee

The committee deals with specific technical topics in the field of the recycling of waste wood and their legal framework conditions.

Energy Utilization Committee 

The Expert Committee on Energy Utilisation is involved in all topics related to the energetic use of waste wood in biomass power plants. The expert committee also takes up practical questions of the members within the framework of the operation of biomass power plants and thus also ensures a transfer of know-how within the membership.

Working Group Waste Wood Ordinance

The group, in which all interest group of the federation are represented, concerns itself with the forthcoming amendment of the waste wood ordinance. The working group has drawn up proposals for amendments, which have been included in the BAV position paper on the amendment of the Waste Wood Ordinance.

Working Group Europe

The group is primarily aimed at foreign BAV members. The meetings will be held in English. The members of the Working Group Europe meet about twice a year. The event deals with the developments of the European waste wood market.
